A small hint for those of you new to the city: we drive on the other side of the road here, that being the left side of the road.

London is one of the two cities featured in Midtown Madness 2, alongside San Francisco. The city is modeled after the real-life London, England, United Kingdom.

Background[]

London is the capital of both England and the United Kingdom, and is located within the southeastern counties of The City and Greater London. London contains a total of 33 boroughs and is home to the famous River Thames. It's currently home to over eight million residents, who speak over 300 languages. The London Underground, commonly referred to as the Tube, is the oldest and second longest metro system in the world. The system serves 270 stations. and was formed from several private companies, including the world's first underground electric line, the City and South London Railway. It dates from 1863.

The London city depicted in Midtown Madness 2 is not identical to the real-life city, but does cover approximately the boroughs of Westminster, Paddington, Kensington, Lambeth, and The City. Although Battersea is visible from across the river, it is not accessible without the use of fan-made mods, like the Drive On Water Mod.

Areas[]

Many landmarks depicted in Midtown Madness 2 are:

    • Victoria Bus Station (only with London Bus City V2.0)

Trivia[]

  • The Midtown Madness 2 layout of London features the following differences compared to its real life counterpart:
    • Some London bridges are missing.
    • The district of Holborn is missing from the playable zone altogether, as well as the Temple area.
    • While the Holborn Viaduct street route is correctly present in-game, the eponymous viaduct itself is not (presumably because Farringdon street passing below is also missing).
  • Sometimes when starting cruise mode in this city, there is an odd glitch where an underground train comes out a building's wall.
